User guide
Everything you need to get off to a good start on Diwigo, in seven simple steps.
First steps
From signing up to your first post.
1 · Sign up
Click “Join” and fill in your full name, a valid email address, a secure password and an invitation code from a friend who's already a member. You automatically join their circle.
2 · Log in
Your email, your password, and there's your personalized feed. Tick “Remember me” to stay connected on your device.
3 · Publish a post
The field at the top of the feed. And when you don't know how to start, the quote button next to the photo one: each click offers another, and you only share the one that moves you. Add #hashtags to make the important words stand out.
Choosing who sees what
You're the one who decides how visible each post is.
4 · Your circles
Create your circles (Family, Close friends, Colleagues…) in the left column and add your contacts to them from their profiles. Click a circle to filter your feed, hover over it on desktop to see its members, and use the “Following” filter to see only posts from the people you follow (the “+ Follow” button on profiles).
5 · Visibility
As you post: Public (everyone), one specific circle (only its members will see the post) or Private (just you). The selector lists your real circles.
6 · Notifications
The bell at the top right gathers the reactions to your posts, your new contacts and your relationship alerts — the bonds that need a sign from you.
Keeping your relationships alive
The heart of Diwigo: the attention you give other people.
7 · Strengthening your relationships
React (“Love” or “Meh” — one at a time!), comment, or log an “I wrote” / “I called” from a profile. Inactivity slowly lowers the quality of a bond: the Alerts and Reminders pages tell you who deserves a sign from you.
Your profile, your way
Click your avatar to edit your details, choose your cover image, write your bio, set the text size (5 steps) and your reminder preferences. The moon/sun button switches between light and dark themes.
Inviting your loved ones
Every member gets 5 invitation codes when they sign up. Find them on your My invitations page (avatar menu): you can copy them or send them straight by email.
